He was born in Granville Co. , was 6ft 1 inch tall and his occupation was blacksmith. He was left sick at Orange Court House, Va. on 19 Nov 1862. Sent to Hospital 1 Aug 1864 and then placed on Sick Furlough to the 25 Nov 1864 from the 25 Oct 1864 for 30 days. Captured at Hatchers Run 1 Apr 1865 and sent to Pt. Lookout Maryland as a POW. He took the Oath of Allegiance 12 Jun 1865 and was released.2
