  The Ferrell, Everett, Pearce, Brockett, Barco, Butler families have several connections. Caroline's mother had a son by her 1st marriage, Robert Pearce. This half-brother of Caroline married MaryJane Barco Pearce Powell, daughter of Philip & Ann Brockett Barco. Philip & Ann also had a son, Lemuel B Barco, who married Mattie Butler, Caroline's husband's younger sister. Lemuel & Mattie Butler Barco & Caroline's mother-in-law, Evaline Moore Butler are also buried in Sutton Cemetery.
  
  AND Ann Brockett Barco's sister, MaryJane Brockett Ferrell, was Caroline's step-mother, her father's 2nd wife. Her father, John S Ferrell, ended up having guardianship of the minor Barco children after their parents died (before 1870), since his 2nd wife was their aunt. Mary Jane Brockett Ferrell died before 1891 and John Ferrell married for a 3rd time.

  Wife of Francis Waylon "Frank" Duval, married about 1878, he has a findagrave memorial posted in Crawfordville Cemetery, where his parents are buried. If his grave is there it is probably lost or unmarked.
  
  They were the parents of one adopted daughter, Mary Etta Duval Morrison, she is buried in West Sopchoppy Cemetery.

  Sarah Elizabeth Duval wrote her last will and testament on Nov. 2, 1918 bequeathing land and personal effects to her brother, Charles J Ferrell, he was also named executor. She also bequeathed land to her adopted daughter, Mary Etta Morrison. In this will she requested that after all her funeral expenses and debts paid that some money be set aside to erect a monument to her beloved husband, Francis W Duval, and herself. Her will was admitted to probate on 25 Apr 1921. Her brother, Charles J Ferrell, testified that his sister died on 11 Apr 1921 in Chattahoochee, FL and that her estate consisted of certain land in Wakulla County described in her will and personal property not exceeding $25.00. He stated that Sarah left no surviving husband or children of her body; one adopted daughter, Mary Etta Morrison; one brother, C J Ferrell; one sister, Carrie Butler, of the whole blood; four half brothers and one half sister (that would have been J J Pearce, Alex Ferrell, Emmett Ferrell, Frank Ferrell and Jonnie Ferrell Sutton), her only heirs at law. Sworn testimony by Florida E Pearce and Harry L Pearce (wife and son of Sarah's half-brother, James Jackson Pearce, who are also buried in this cemetery) stated that the signature on this will was indeed that of Sarah E Duval and it was admitted as her true last will and testament.²
